ERIN O'BRIEN

       Erin O'Brien graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 2007 with an MPhil in Policy, Property and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Throughout her Masters experience, she studied under and worked for the Centre for Property Studies (CPS). Her work for the CPS took her on three CIDA-funded research terms in South Africa. After completing her studies, she worked for Dr. Sue Nichoils as Research Assistant on the PIGN Technology Transfer project in Brazil.  

       Currently, Erin is in South Africa pursuing research and career opportunities in the field  of land mediation and alternative dispute resolution.

HAZEL ONSRUD

       Hazel Onsrud graduated from UNB in October 2005 with a Joint Honors in International Development Studies and World Literature & Culture Studies and a minor in Geomatics. She then worked for 1.5 years as a Research Assistant for Dr. Nichols in the Geodesy and Geomatics Department at the University of New Brunswick, participating in the CIDA Technology Transfer Project, PIGN. Currently Hazel is pursuing a Masters in Information Management and Systems at the University of California- Berkeley and plans to graduate in Spring of 2009. In the future Hazel hopes to appropriately use information technologies to better facilitate sustainable development through the manipulation of varied systems (especially those of energy, transportation, and sustenance).

MICHAEL SUTHERLAND

 

     Michael Sutherland holds both a Master of Science in Engineering (1995) and a Ph.D. in land information management (2005) from the Department of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering, University of New Brunswick, Canada. He is currently a lecturer, and the Programme Coordinator of the Land Management (Valuation) B.Sc. degree Programme at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago.  Michael is a member of the Canadian Institute of Geomatics, and is a Vice-Chair of the International Federation of Surveyor's Commission 4 (i.e. hydrography, coastal zone management, ocean governance, and marine cadastre).

CAROL ROMERO

      Carol Romero is associated with our group through The Centre for Property Studies. She is currently completing a Masters in Regional Development and Environment at the Universidad de Valparaiso in Chile. Carol is also helping to develop a Capacity Institution in Maritime and Environmental Issues with her partner, Enrique de Silva or SHOA in Chile.
