Silvane Paixao

       Silvane Paixao, an International Student from Brazil, graduated from UFPE in 2005. She has a degree in Cartographic Engineering, with a Masters Degree in GIS for health proposes. In Brazil she worked with NGOs and projects related to poverty. She also did some temporary teaching at universities. Since 2005, Silvane has been working on research for Dr. Nichols in the Geodesy and Geomatics Department at the University of New Brunswick, participating in the CIDA Technology Transfer Project (PIGN). She is a PhD candidate and her thesis is constructed in reltion to the PIGN Project. Silvane plans to graduate in 2009/2010 and she then expects to use Land Information Management to improve land regularization and land registration in both general and traditional lands in Brazil.
