The Canadian Space Agency's Dr. Shen-En Qian Visits GGE
(Continued from here.)
Dr. Qian met with GGE's Dr. Yun Zhang who directs the Canada Research Chair Laboratory in Advanced Geomatics Image Processing (CRC-AGIP Lab). The lab is well known for its research in space-based imaging and has developed technology used by Google.
During the morning of the visit, Dr. Zhang and his students introduced some of the technologies developed by the lab, and in the afternoon, Dr. Qian delivered two lectures on optical technologies developed by his research group at CSA. Later in the day, Dr. Qian watched live software demonstrations developed by Dr. Zhang's lab.
The visit was deemed very successful. Each side has gotten a better understanding of the research background of the other. Common research interests have been identified for future collaboration.
